Subject: Information regarding the launch of the Magellan Project and request for response

Dear Mr. Federal President,

You deserve to be the first to be informed that the Magellan Project has officially been launched.

Every free area of land on Earth shall receive a tree. That is the Magellan Project.

I am aware that it may be surprising to see me in this role. However, Mr. Federal President, please be assured: I am the same person – only wearing an additional costume.

This year in Andernach, where I work, we had only 1 cm of snow. In the past, it used to be 30 to 40 cm.

I wanted to report this and make myself useful. Unfortunately, I did not know to whom. Then I realized: There is no one on Earth who works full-time – not voluntarily, but officially – solely for the care of the Earth, because there is no money to be made from it.

Mr. Federal President, I am scientifically shaped. I believe only what I see. And when I see how hot the world has become, it is clear: our Earth is dying and could one day resemble the planet Mars, where nothing grows.

This is because we have exaggerated. We have all consumed and thought, like our parents, that others would replace what we used.

If everyone has the same thought, it is logical that we arrive at this result.

Mr. Federal President, I will not ask how many trees you have planted in the last three years, because I know that you and your wife are already planting many.

However, I would be pleased if you could tell me whether you plan, as in previous years, to plant new trees again this year. A simple “yes” would be enough.

Your response, as well as this open letter, will of course be made available to 8 billion people, because my work requires complete transparency.

Everything I do is publicly visible, because the Earth carries us all. No one is treated preferentially. Everyone has the right to examine my documents. Only in this way will everyone participate.

Mr. Federal President, could you provide me with a name of someone I may contact regarding funding or subsidies? If there is no such person, that is also acceptable. It would simply mean that in Germany no one is responsible for such questions. It would not be the first country.

I have already informed your colleagues in America, Russia and China. So you know: I am not doing politics. I am attempting what no one has successfully accomplished so far. And for that I need support.

Now to the uncomfortable part. Mr. Federal President, I believe what I see. And I see that on this Earth, when someone dares something extraordinary, he is silenced.

The arms industry will not appreciate my proposal of white flags (HOME 1 on my website). Do you believe they will simply watch calmly?

They will attempt everything – from blocking websites to propaganda and possibly beyond.

I once had a dream. In that dream, I was told: “They will do everything to you. But inform them beforehand: If I smell your blood on my soil, I will flood the Earth.”
It was only a dream, Mr. Federal President. But what if?

I believe it is a risk none of us want to take. This Earth is so old that we cannot even begin to understand what it may be capable of.

We are currently in a dead end. How do we solve this dilemma? Do you have ideas?

For me, death is part of life, Mr. Federal President. One day, each of us will go. But if under such circumstances an outcome becomes reality, one would not want to think: Could it have been prevented? I hope you have a solution.

I do not trust the arms industry. Do you?
Honestly, I do not know why we need it. Imagine there were not a single weapon left on Earth – would that not be the peace we all long for?

Mr. Federal President, if you were the first to place a white flag visibly in front of your home – visible even to satellites – and also on your car, at your office window, and wear one on your wrist, that would be the sign that you stand for peace. That you are a civilian.

The arms industry could build even more weapons – no one would buy them, because there would be no use for them. Everyone would be civilians. And civilians are not shot at.

You know me. I have nothing and own nothing – except my baboon butt, and that somehow needs to be protected.

Mr. Federal President, please inform your staff about the following scenario:

You know the phrase “ashes to ashes.” Imagine this: now the Earth carries us while we live. One day we will lie beneath this Earth.

What happens if we planted no trees when we still could? Planting a tree is a sign of love and takes only 15 minutes.

What happens if we were not loving enough toward the Earth? Will she then be loving toward us when we lie alone beneath her? I do not believe so. I believe she will receive us with the same love we showed her during our lifetime. Does that make sense?

I once spoke with a high-ranking religious leader from the Islamic tradition. He said that in the Qur’an it is written, in essence: “Even if you know today is your last day or the end of the world – plant a tree.”

You see, Mr. President, I am not the only one who sees it this way. Even holy scriptures mentioned it thousands of years ago. Does that mean our ancestors did not plant enough trees? Perhaps we inherited this reality, and now we want to break the ice.

If we one day lie beneath the Earth – without money, without houses, without ego – and we had planted no trees, what then? What do we expect? Everyone can imagine it.

Please inform your staff. When they leave this Earth, they should be on the side of the sun, not freezing in darkness. It is only advice. You know – give and take, the law of karma.

Planting trees is very simple. One does not even have to leave the sofa – that is the best part. One donates a sum and informs me by e-mail how the donation should be used – whether in the city, in Germany, in a specific country or at the equator where rainfall is highest.

There are three options: city, country or equator. One may choose all or leave it open, which I recommend, so trees can be planted where the problem is greatest.

One may donate and plant as many trees as desired. It is only important to send an e-mail or WhatsApp message with the name and the amount, so I can inform the Earth who planted the trees.

When one day the final day arrives, she should remember the good deeds of that person. That is the arithmetic.

Now to the lighter part: How about the invitation to Schloss Bellevue? Does it still stand?

Did you know that the last time we were in Paris, my mother did not receive a visa from the German embassy in Cameroon? Unbelievable, isn’t it?

The embassy decided that my 70-year-old mother intended to immigrate and denied her the visa to support me at the games.

It hurt her. Nevertheless, she said: “C’est la vie.” I should focus on my tournament.

But Mr. Federal President, imagine representing Germany and not being allowed to have your mother present at Schloss Bellevue. The country for which you would be willing to die refuses your mother entry. How would you feel?

If the invitation still stands, I would gladly come together with her – if you do not mind.
